Damavand
Mount Damavand, Iran’s highest peak and one of the most powerful symbols in Persian mythology, is rendered in a finely detailed 3D relief carved from solid walnut wood. The mountain’s iconic volcanic form rises in sculptural layers, its contours and shadows emphasizing depth, permanence, and quiet force. At the base, a precise engraving records the mountain’s name, height, and geographic location, grounding the piece in both history and place. In Persian lore, Damavand is known as the Alabaster Titan, Bound Below—the eternal prison of a primordial force of tyranny and chaos, chained beneath the mountain in the Shahnameh. This sculpture is not merely a depiction of a peak, but a timeless embodiment of resistance, balance, and myth carved into living wood.
